Obituary of Allan Valentine Snarr

Peacefully Allan passed away with family by his side, November 22, 2017 at the Morris General Hospital at the age of 80 years.  He is survived by his wife Muriel (nee Wray), two daughters: Nancy and Susan (Dean) Switzer, one son John (Julie), two grandsons: Jamie and Jase; and one brother Jack (Carol).  Allan was predeceased by his parents John and Helen Snarr.

Allan was kind hearted, generous, caring and as the nurses said “stoic”.  He farmed all his life and had many interests and hobbies including Cooking for family gatherings, music (he played piano, violin and the accordion), crossword puzzles, carpentry and welding.  He loved curling and played many bonspiels.  He also was on the Heavy Horse Committee for the Morris Stampede.

The funeral service for Allan will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Morris United Church.  Viewing will be held at the Morris Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 28 from 12:00 pm to 6:00pm and at the church prior to the funeral.  Burial will take place at the Morris Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Morris General Hospital nursing staff and Dr. Fraser for their excellent care and compassion for Dad.  We would also like to thank friends and family for their visits, meals, baking and phone calls.  Your kindness was very appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Dad we love you and will miss you.

I lieu of flowers donations in memory of Allan may be made to the Red River Valley Palliative Care Program.
