Obituary of Anna "Annie" Braun

Anna (Annie) Braun, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 17 at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris. Predeceased by her husband John L. Braun, she leaves to mourn her children, Linda Reimer (Larry), Evelyn Braun, Eileen Braun, Marilyn Bergen (Albert), Ray Braun (Trudy); grandchildren Jason and Wendy, Helena (Chris), Rachel (Joey) and Erin (Evan), Angela (Ben) and Claire (Darren), Lisa and Julie (Paul); 13 great-grandchildren; two surviving siblings Susan Norris and Peter Falk (Anne) and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Braun and Geraldine Falk.

Annie was a homemaker whose skills and hobbies included sewing, knitting, quilting, needlepoint, baking, gardening and flower arranging. Over her many years as a member of the Lowe Farm Bergthaler Church, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and Daily Vacation Bible School, and was an active member of the Ladies Christian Endeavor.  She volunteered at the MCC Self-Help centres in Morris and in Winkler for many years, and also at the Winkler Seniors’ Centre.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 21 at 2:00 pm at the Lowe Farm Bergthaler Church with internment at the Lowe Farm cemetery. Viewing will be at the Morris Funeral Home on Dec 20 from 12pm to 9pm.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Red River Valley Lodge for their exceptional caregiving and support.

In Annie's memory, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
