My family and I moved to St. Jean back in 1995, during my last year of high school. I was the new girl in town and didn’t have a single friend. Evan took me under his wing and looked out for me. He would often escort me on my late night walks as he insisted that I not walk alone. He protected me, showed me tremendous compassion and kindness that I will never forget. So often, it is the best of us that have to leave this earth too soon.
