Obituary of George Thiesen

George Thiesen passed away suddenly on July 6, 2020 at the age of 67 while fishing in Buffalo Point Manitoba. George is survived by his loving family. He will be greatly missed by his wife Jackie, son William (Brittany), daughter Janet and grandchildren Rocky and Mylo. George was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. George had many hobbies. George was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time hunting, fishing, quadding and snowmobiling. He enjoyed going for coffee with friends and looked forward to traveling to warm destinations in the winter. George loved watching sports and cheering for the Winnipeg Jets, Blue Bombers and Toronto Blue Jays. Spending time with his grandchildren and volunteering at the Open Door Church were high priorities for George. A public viewing will be held at the Morris Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 12:00pm to 7:00pm. A private family service will be held with burial at the Rosenort E.M.C. Cemetery. The family wishes to thank George’s good friends Dan Marion and Gerald Lawler, the first responders, the Sprague and Emerson RCMP and Morris Funeral Home. Thank you as well to all of the friends and family members for the phone calls, visits, meals and kind words. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Speech and Hearing Clinic, or World Vision. A video of the graveside funeral will be added to this page by Saturday, July 18, 2020.
