I couldn’t of asked for a better father-in-law in Norm. I always appreciated his willingness to give advice or to help out with projects without making it seem like a burden. It makes me happy to know that we will always see his hand in some of the projects around our house, whether through projects he did himself or through giving me the guidance and reassurance I needed, particularly when I thought I didn’t need it.
Norm was always easy to be around. I fondly remember sitting around with him while Marie and Tina would go for a walk at the farm, either chatting idly or just sitting in silence. He was also an amazing grandfather Serena, having boundless patience for her stories, questions and other child antics and was always quick with a joke and a cuddle for her. As I was go through my photos it really dawned on me how amazing he was with her, with so many pictures of the two of them just reading a book or smiling at each other affectionately.
Norm’s passing has left a hole in our family that can’t be replaced.

To Marie, Marty, Joe and Tina, and families we cannot express in words the emotions we have at your loss. Cancer may have taken Norm’s life, but nothing can take away your relationship you had with him or the memories you created. Never forget that we are here for you and love you.
Mark and I will cherish all our memories that span over 45 years. Our friendship grew throughout the years even though we lived miles apart, we have watched our children grow, our grandchildren flourish. And through this we laughed and cried together. We are thankful for the trips we took together and the memories we created. You were always and will always be our very special friend.
There are so many words that express Norm, a loving caring person, always there for family and friends. A gentle soul to those he befriended, a wise man to those that listened, a comforting arm that soothed fears, and gave courage. He had many talents and for those of us that knew him, we are truly blessed, and our lives enriched for having had Norm as a friend. His infectious smile and laughter will be forever in our hearts. Until we meet again our friend. xoxo

We met Norm and Marie in 2006 in Rincon de Guayabitos and quickly became friends, in Mexico and back home in Canada. We drove in a convoy with them twice to Mexico and they also came along on our trip to China. We have many wonderful memories of our travels and other times together, lots of adventures, laughs and some tears along the way. Norm became like a brother to us and we are deeply saddened by his passing. It was a privilege and an honour to be able to count him as a friend and we will forever hold him in our hearts.
