Fred retired at the age of 65. His career path started as a commercial painter which took him throughout the province. He found a new passion in carpentry which provided for his family the balance of his career. This was shared with 2 partners, Antonio Colette and Tom Jablonski. Fred truly enjoyed building and renovating in his local community.
Fred was dedicated to his church as a Knight of Columbus, and volunteered in maintenance of the cemetery for many years. He was also a volunteer firefighter for St. Jean. He and Dolores were both recognized by the town’s volunteers of the year.
Dad was extremely outdoorsy and adventurous. He truly enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. Dad had a playing side. He was never tired of playing with his kids, grandchildren, and teasing his nieces and nephews. Many referred to him as "Mon Oncle Favoritte. " He loved exploring the world and his travels included all of Canada, the US, Mexico, South America and the Caribbean.
