Lillian Schultz

Obituary of Lillian Margaret Schultz

It is with profound sadness that we announce that our mom passed away peacefully at the age of 101 years with her daughter Joan by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, her daughter-in-law Bonnie-Lee, her son-in-law Bill and her brothers Will and Art. She is survived by her son Don and wife Jean, daughter Joan and grandchildren Nicole, Jennifer and her husband Jamie and great-grandchildren Matteo, Griffin, Farrah, Elise and Paige. Mom is also survived by her step-grandchildren David and his wife Amanda and step-great-grandchilden Maren and Vivien, by many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom worked hard along-side dad on the farm east of Emerson while raising her family. She had a large vegetable garden and many flower gardens. Mom had many hobbies such as crocheting, knitting, embroidery, cross stitch and music. Mom loved music; she was self taught at playing guitar, organ and keyboard. She has left us with many handwritten song books, many songs copied by listening on the radio which she always had playing. In retirement in Emerson, mom and dad enjoyed visiting with friends, playing cards and visiting with the family and grandchildren. Mom was the pillar of our family. Mom loved her home in Emerson and was able to stay in her home until the age of 100 years. She had life-long friends, many who have predeceased her. Special thanks to the staff of home care, those in the community of Emerson, for supporting mom over the years, and to the staff of the Emerson Personal Care Home, for their care and support. A memorial service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Friedensthal on Saturday, June 3 at 2 pm followed by internment at the Friedensthal Cemetery. Lunch will be served at the church parish hall following inurnment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Friedensthal or the Emerson Personal Care Home.
