My condolences to the family. Janelle, you are so deeply missed. ❤️ I’ve shared many beautiful moments with Janelle growing up. One thing I always admired about her was her big heart, and the way she was unapologetically herself. We laughed so much each time we were together - that was a given! Thanks to her love for animals, our family actually welcomed in our sweet cat, Nickie from Lynne & Gerald’s farm. Janelle will forever hold a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

J'ai appris avec immense tristesse la perte de votre chère Janelle. Je me souviens très bien de Janelle avec son sourire rayonnant qui démontrait sa joie, son énergie, son amitié et sa beauté. J'ai eu le plaisir d'avoir plusieurs conversations avec elle au courant de ses années aux CRGR. Elle avait une joie de vivre et avait la capacité de répandre la joie et le rire autour d'elle. En tant que finissante du Collège Régional Gabrielle Roy de l’année 2014, j’ai bien connu Janelle. Au lieu de parler de nos nombreux souvenirs, je préfère me prononcer sur ses nombreuses qualités.
Janelle a toujours été très brillante. Cependant, elle ne se ventait pas. Elle avait de bonnes notes, mais au lieu d’en parler, elle préférait reconnaître les exploits de ceux qui l’entouraient.
Janelle donnait toujours tellement d’elle-même. Elle était une personne généreuse et attentive. Elle était toujours prête à remonter le moral de ses proches, surtout ceux qui étaient marginalisés ou victimes d’intimidation. Le secondaire peut être difficile, surtout il y a plus de 10 ans, lorsque la santé mentale était un sujet taboo parsemé de préjugés. Janelle parlait ouvertement de sa santé mentale. Il s’agissait d’une des maintes choses qu’elle faisait qui aidaient à ses proches à se sentir moins isolés dans leur vécu. Sans le savoir, Janelle a certainement joué un rôle important dans la vie de plusieurs qui ont pu reconnaître qu’il y a aucun mal à demander pour de l’aide et que la santé mentale est aussi importante, si pas plus importante, que la santé physique.
Janelle avait in sourire et un rire extrêmement contagieux. Ceux-ci apparaissaient souvent, mais surtout quand elle était dans ses éléments: les cours de musique (jazz, chorale, harmonie) et notre club de justice sociale. Toujours prête à participer pleinement, Janelle avait une abondance de joie et d’énergie à partager.
Janelle, je ne t’ai vu qu’à quelques reprises depuis notre collation des grades en 2014, il y a maintenant presque 10 ans. Cependant, à chaque fois qu’on s’est vu, tu étais tout juste comment je me suis souvenu, et comment je continuerai à me souvenir, de toi: une personne scintillante, effervescente, franche, et ouverte d’esprit. Que tu reposes en paix, sachant que tu as fait de ce monde, un meilleur endroit.

J'ai connu Janelle à Gab Roy et elle était dans un de mes petits groupes. Je l'avais croisé quelques fois par après où on a jaser de ce quelle faisait dans sa vie. Elle était une fille admirable ayant des qualités précieuses. Je me souviendrais toujours d'elle et sa joie qu'elle resplendissant envers les autres. Mes condoléances les plus profondes à sa famille. Le monde vient perdre une perle de personne.

I couldn't have asked for a better best friend. Janelle, I miss you so so so so much. Together, we made so many memories that I’ll forever cherish. We shared so many laughs, deep talks, advice (no one gave better advice than you!) and I’m so grateful for that. You are an exemplary example of a person and nurse; selfless, kind and empathetic. I will try to be a better person every day because of you. Your friends, family and patients were so lucky to have known you. Janelle was one of my favorite people, nevermind cousins. It crushed my soul to hear of her passing, she was a special human being.
Being the same age, Janelle and I were able to relate to each other on many levels when it came to school, relationships, and life in general.
I think what I'll remember most about her was her deep, contagious laugh. I also loved how supportive she was of everybody in the family, especially her Grandpa and Grandma Sabourin! You could tell how their eyes lit up whenever she was around. One memory with her was getting my butt kicked at Nintendo games at our grandparents' old house!
It was a great pleasure having you as a cousin and as a friend Janelle. There's no doubt that Heaven is a better place with you in it.
