Obituary of Shirley Guenther

Shirl Guenther passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2022 at Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach, Manitoba at the age of 64 years.   She is survived by her son, Clinton Guenther (Sarah); her two daughters, Carrie Matenchuck (Shaun) and Rachel Guenther (Pierre-Luc); her three sisters, Linda Neufeld (Ernie), Sharon Sawatzky and Valerie Wiebe (Darryl); as well as three nephews, three nieces, six grandchildren and 13 great-nieces/nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Dave and Anne Wiebe and her brother in law, Rudy Sawatzky as well as one great-niece. Shirl was a loving, gentle soul who believed deeply in the goodness of others. To give a recent quote, ‘You get what you give in this world, so when given the chance, be kind.’ An ideal she lived her life by. A life well lived. A public viewing will be held on Friday July 8th, at 4pm at Morris Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held on July 10th, at 1 pm at Lowe Farm Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethesda for their diligent care of Shirl these past few months. They would also like to thank the following ladies for their years of friendship, readily given assistance and/or for keeping her company in the hospital when her children couldn’t be there: Tina Sawatzky, Susan Warkentin, Maria Esau, Kelly Eichler, Barb Friesen, Kiera Klassen, Lotti Giesbrecht, Sharon Giesbrecht, Irene Kriwolapow, Alma Sawatzky and Caroline Wiens.
